Me too! And I take it seriously when it comes to just being up front that my adhd/ introverted/ writer husband doesn’t need to go to all our family events ( we live in the same town) or that he can show up late so he’s not there for as long. I make it a point to leave the house with our girls each Sunday and go to my parents so he can decompress - he really really needs his alone time.
Wow! I have never heard that Nisargadatta Maharaj quote and I need to write it down and tape it to my wall ASAP (!!!) I enjoyed learning about Teddy and reading this list! :) Love the pics!
The two pieces of advice I give to my newly wed/newly moving-in-together friends: "Always remember that you're annoying too." and "Never criticize a person doing a chore. They are doing the chore. They get to do it however they want." :)
I have been married 28 years (yes, I married young) and that is a life! You are wise and I am happy for you that you have Teddy and these 10 lessons. I am also bad at #9 but I do always try and remember that I am married to a whole entire person with his own whole entire life inside his head. It is not all about me.
This took me right back to my 20’s - sitting on the N train, pouring over my Susan Miller horoscope every month on the way work. Ooofff. What a great piece! Thank you for sharing.
Just "celebrated" my 10yr wedding anniversary with fast food and a promise to book a vacation (sans kids!) in the Fall, and your list resonated deeply in this tough season of life for me. Cheering you and Teddy on - not to a destination event, but for a wonderful journey together!
Brilliant, loved every bit of this especially the contrast in pics, both were adorable for different reasons and the cool lizard brooch! Would add to #9 'listen in kind' and take action if your words are falling on deaf ears. 💚
Thank you for including the single people in a piece about love. It makes me feel seen ❤️
I really like the idea of "standing guard over the solitude of the other" as part of love, quoted in 8.....

*Teddy says the prize is you can proofread from now on.

Love your posts on Tarot! Have you thought of compiling a book about how you interpret each card. I'd buy the book right away.

Lying liar!! My new favorite phrase. Great piece. Love the first photo that Teddy sent. I like him already!
Thank you ❤️
There’s a lot of wisdom here, Caroline. Great piece.
Thank you so much, Israel
Hi, Teddy! Loved this one (and I’m also bad at #9) 🫣
#9 is so important. Bad at it myself, but it’s always something to work on
Thanks for writing this! I needed to hear it. Also, why is #9 so difficult to do?
