Caroline, I would love a card pull, but I have no doubt you’re being inundated so no worries if not!
What a beautiful interview. I’m musing over Jane’s “I love you” voice. That happened to me in a moment of crisis not too long ago and it changed things for me also. Something I will explore more and ponder. Thank you, Jane.
This week's interview is my favorite so far. When she hears that voice - I love you, I love you, I love you - what a gift. My wish is that we all have those moments of clarity to hear our own true voices to lift us up in the darkest times.
Thank you, Caroline, for continuing to write - you're one of my most favorite voices to listen to. xo
Hi Sharon! Thank you so much for the kind words. ❤️ Your card is The World, a gorgeous card with an equally beautiful message. This card speaks to endings—in the best possible way. Reaching the summit, winning the prize, figuring out the riddle, putting the final piece in place. The World asks us to recognize the ways we have triumphed. (Yes, triumphed. Even when it doesn't quite feel like it.) Because The World signifies an ending, it also speaks to beginnings and the cyclical nature of all things. But! It asks us not to be preoccupied with what comes next. Enjoy the moment—this moment, and the next, and the next. Whenever we cross something off our proverbial to-do list, big or small, we've earned the right to acknowledge it and to bask (even if only for a moment) in our accomplishment. This card urges us to celebrate whatever we can, as often as possible...and as an outspoken advocate for our worthiness, The World insists that we include that, too.

I look forward to your writing in my inbox each week! This interview was wonderful, and I feel very inspired after reading it. Thank you for sharing your talent and thoughts with the world. I’d love a card pulled :)
Hi Kelly! Thank you so much for the kind words. :) Your card is The Sun, an almost absurdly beautiful card bursting with warmth. The Sun bears a message about merging our conscious and unconscious selves—the people we are inherently vs. how we are influenced from the outside. It encourages us to celebrate who we are, by spending time doing things we enjoy, in the company of people who love us (our own company certainly counts). It asks us to honor all the people we have been, from childhood through this moment, knowing we have the power to create harmony and fulfillment.
This is so wonderful, thank you for sharing. I’ve been doing inner child work the last couple of months and working on forgiving and facing myself so that I can be the true authentic version of me. This is a sign for me that I’m on the right path, so I thank you! <3
Hi Cait! Your card is the Ace of Wands, an exciting message about fresh starts, inspiration, and new beginnings. There is a lot brimming within us, and this card wants us to let it out. Whether it's creative inspiration, a new gig, or some other exciting venture, the Ace of Wands is more than a little enthused about what we have going on. It wants us to do the thing, take the chance, try our hand, even if we may think we're not quite ready or qualified (yet). Ever the enthusiastic friend, it reminds us that we don't need to be perfect...we just have to be ourselves. This cards asks us to hold onto our beginner's mindset and harness any feelings of excitement, so that if and when inevitable challenges do arise, we can summon how it felt at the onset and use it to keep going. Everything (and everyone) has to start somewhere, including and especially us.
I love this interview so much, and Jane, your Substack is one of my favorites! You always write from a place of such emotional honesty, and I feel your words.
Hi Rebecca! Thank you for the lovely words. :) Your card is the Knight of Wands, a truly awesome card about big dreams and making stuff happen. Wands are the sign of fire, and Knights are the figures of fire, so this message is all about, well, fire. It encourages us to say yes, seize opportunities, go for what we want, and boldly make choices with the knowledge that we can always figure out the details (or change our minds again) later. Sometimes, it makes sense to carefully plan, but other times, it behooves us to forge ahead, letting passion lead the way. The Knight is a fan of the latter.
Gosh the universe has really got me pegged, this couldn't be more appropriate! Tomorrow we move house, going from living in a city with everything around us to completely isolated in the countryside (five hours south from where we are now). It's the culmination of ten years of work, but still has been feeling super scary. This is just what I needed to reassure me to take the leap, go for the dream and figure the details out later. Thank you so much Caroline, your words and your cards are a gift, as always.
I love the "I love you Jane" and the idea that our hearts and souls are on our side. Thank you for being vulnerable for us! And thank you Caroline for the tarot offer, I would love one if you're able :) x
Hi Larissa! Your card is the Nine of Pentacles, a card everyone is always glad to see. This card's message is a bit like a reassuring friend—everything is going to be just fine. In fact, maybe everything already is, albeit in ways we haven't quite seen or acknowledged. As the suit of material wealth, Pentacles often speak to our ideas of "wealth," but of course that goes way beyond finances. The Nine encourages us to take stock of the ways we feel lucky, the things that bring comfort, the choices we are proud of, the occasions worth celebrating (even if they may feel too ordinary to acknowledge). This card paraphrases the famous Mary Oliver line, amending it to ask how we might enjoy the fruits of our wild and precious life?
This is gorgeous, *thank you* so much, Caroline. It rings true, deeply. I had a visit/download from my late grandma with some wisdom that sounds like it's a leaf from the same book here - "enjoy and stop fixing". And other family wisdom is to celebrate everything, because happiness and contentment are made from culminations of small things. Clearly I need to be focusing on these tenets more - thank you (!) for the beautiful reminder <3
Hi Kristi! Your card is the King of Wands. Since wands are the suit of fire, this makes him the King of Fire. (If that sounds like a lot of energy, well, that would be correct.) The King of Wands is an amazing leader, with a talent for inspiring people, sharing big ideas, offering solutions, getting people (including themselves) all fired up. They are intensely curious, and fun to be around. When this card shows up, the message is often that we embody this energy, or that it may be helpful to tap into for a situation in our lives. Even if "shining" does not seem to be on the agenda, or we don't feel particularly inspired, the King reminds us that "fake-it-till-we-make-it" most certainly counts.
Wow, wow & wow! First, Jane, your story really moved me. You did not give up. You left me with wanting more. Perhaps a deep dive is in order. Thank you for your vulnerability and sharing your journey.
And thanks again Caroline. It’s always a pleasure to be enlightened with your words and insights. Tarot reading? Yes please! Thank you in advance.
Hi Jackie! Your card is the Two of Swords. This card is often understood to be about choices, decisions, the either/or. It speaks to the times we may have difficulty choosing one path, for fear of giving up another. But this card reminds us that letting things go—a choice, an obligation, a sweater we haven't worn in who-knows-how-long—is also a kind of freedom. By choosing, by pursuing whatever direction we wish, we create space for wonderful new things to come into the mix. The secret of choices is that most are not final... there is always room to change our mind, renegotiate, choose again. By making a move, we may discover that the choice was never so stark to begin with. We might be greeted with options we never knew existed. This card reminds us that we are always learning, growing, changing. We approach each path (and decision) anew each day, as a version of ourselves with more wisdom than we've ever had before.
Thank you so much for your kind words, Jackie! I have written a fair amount about my health, but not about exactly what I shared here. Perhaps I will now!
Gracias Caroline, como siempre. And Jane (if I may), what a moving interview piece. Welcome to Michigan! I'm no native, myself, but Detroit is home, and A2 is where I work; do reach out if you wish.
Loved this interview. What a wonderful woman! I’d love a card if I’m not to late. You piqued my interest and I purchased a deck of Tarot cards but I’m still very much a novice.
Hi Samantha! (I'm so glad to hear you purchased a deck!) Your card is Temperance, a card about balance, healing, and neutrality—especially how all of those things may be different than we think. Temperance is chock full of symbolism, but a primary focus is that the figure often stands with one foot in water and the other on land. We see this and say, "Balance! Moderation!" and yes, that's the message, but this card urges us to take a look around and examine all the ways we practice this (or not), and all the things this can mean. Most people can agree that it's possible to be a big fan of an author or filmmaker but not like every single one of their books or movies. Likewise, it's possible to care deeply about a job or cause or philosophy but not execute every task perfectly, not understand or subscribe to every one of its tenets. But sometimes, we don't allow ourselves this. This card says it's okay (and rather necessary) to acknowledge that we are complicated creatures. "Balance" is never static—it's actually more fluid, moving ever so slightly this way and that. Temperance urges us to embrace this flow, promising that as we do, the better we'll feel.
Dear Caroline. Thank you! You have no idea how this is the perfect card for me. I’m going to reread and digest this reading and think carefully about the resonance in my life at the moment. I so appreciate you!
Hi Caitlin! Your card is the Page of Swords, a card full of movement and excitement. The Page isn't merely enthusiastic, they are bursting with idealism. Their energy is contagious...albeit not to everyone. This card reminds us of the importance of protecting such feelings, whether it's around a new endeavor, a creative project, a person we care about, or something we deeply believe in. The message is to find (or call upon) people who encourage us, people who believe in (or at least won't squash) our ideas, dreams, schemes, desires, and beliefs. (Or, to be this person for somebody else.) Excitement is precious and meant to be protected. Belief is better when amplified. And yes, not everything works out, but when that happens, isn't it preferable to be in the company of people who will lift your spirits, rather than say "I told you so"? The Page of Swords certainly thinks so.
Thank you, Caroline! What a gift to have you pull a card for me. I’m going to sit with this card and meaning in the days ahead. Your card of the week has served as such an incredible guide as I have started my own tarot journey. Love this community that you have created, thanks again!
Hi Holly! You card is the Four of Cups, with a message about embracing the goodness that is already present in our lives. This card urges us to open our eyes to all we have going on, including things we may now have that we once only dreamed of. In a world full of materialism, where the grass is always greener somewhere else, the Four reminds us that feelings aren't facts (and neither is much of what we see in the media). From another angle, even our own lives have something new to show us.
Hi Meg! :) Your card is the Queen of Cups. The Queen is emotional intelligence personified. This is a beautiful card about love, intuition, and being in touch with our own ways of knowing. It urges us to heighten our senses, become aware of what's going on, both outside and in. The Queen is an expert at noting the subtle signs, hunches, and signals we encounter throughout our days and letting them inform her view. The guidance we are seeking is often our own.
Caroline, what fun! I loved this interview and would love it if you could pull a tarot card for me. Thank you for taking the time and energy to do this for all of us. A friend and colleague used to do tarot reading when we had retreats and it was always so thought-provoking. Also love the idea of engaging this community through a class with you. ❤️
Hi Leslie! Your card is The Magician. (A truly awesome card.) This card is like getting every green light along the way—it suggests things are in alignment, we are in the right place at the right time, and we have played an active role in shaping that reality. While the word "magician" very literally has "magic" in it, it carries a very practical message about action. The Magician encourages us to take our dreams and wants and ideas and do our part to bring them to fruition. With belief and focus, we can create things that, to others, will look like magic.
Caroline, thank you so much for this amazing reading! I love my card and love the optimism imbedded in your reading of it as there’s been a lot of stress in my life lately. I am also having so much fun reading about others’ card pulls and learning so much from your intuitive sense of each card and person. Many thanks again! ❤️
First of all, JANE. Wow. What a resilient, badass, creative force of a woman - thank you for featuring her, and thank you Jane for your honesty and sharing the incredible challenges you've surmounted. I love that you never gave up the fight. And I'll cry the tears that elude you - "I love you, Jane." That's powerful. Truly beautiful. You're not remotely a jerk - I'm basking in your self-love. I'm going to ask my inner child if she could pipe up with the same here and there - what a difference such self-affirmation can make.
Second, Caroline! I would be honored to be the recipient of a mini tarot reading from you. Thank you, my friend. :)
Hi Nicole. :) Your card is the Two of Swords, a card that is often understood to be about choices, decisions, and either/or. The message I'm getting today, though, is less about an actual choice and more about balance. The Two says that we can approach situations with our emotions, or with our rationality... but there is a third way. We can approach them with both. The magic of this card is about learning to let such juxtaposing forces dance within us, learning to be open while cautious, drawing boundaries while taking care of others. This card reminds us that we are always learning, always growing, always changing. We approach each path and decision anew each day, a version of ourselves with more wisdom than we've ever had before.

This couldn't resonate more - both the card and your ever-wise interpretation. I'm indeed being faced with setting boundaries with kindness and being open while cautious - remaining true to myself and self-contained without putting up walls. I was just telling a friend last week that I feel both emotion and logic engaged simultaneously and am not sure if that's something to strive for or insanity. ;) Your guidance affirms the former. Thank you for your infinite wisdom, Caroline - you are a gem and a gift. xo
Oh, thank you so much, Nicole! Your words really touch my heart. It's not often I'm this vulnerable in sharing about my life. So I appreciate you reading it. It means a lot. xx
Caroline, I would love a card pull, but I have no doubt you’re being inundated so no worries if not!

Oh, that's wonderful you had it, too! The most comforting and strengthening voice imaginable. We're both so lucky! And thank you for your kind words!
I would love a card pulled for me.
This week's interview is my favorite so far. When she hears that voice - I love you, I love you, I love you - what a gift. My wish is that we all have those moments of clarity to hear our own true voices to lift us up in the darkest times.
