I am taking a moment to thank you for being for the internet what the polite employee is for the DMV:)

I also appreciated the card, because the bridge between what was and what will be is often not discussed. I finished a very big project and suddenly feel a bit lost because I cannot clearly see the path ahead yet. I am trying to keep nourishing the excitement about all the possibilities while trying to be patient to allow things to unfold and become more clear.

I’ve spent the last few days catching up on unread newsletters from the past year. I want to thank you for the joy and the wisdom you brought into my life with each one of them (especially after the last one).

There’s no better way to start my week (I’m in Spain, so you land on my inbox on Monday mornings).

Rooting for you on Nov, 6th!

Caroline you're going to ROCK this marathon. Seriously! I only did one (Chicago) almost 20 years ago and I have ALWAYS been really glad I did it. You will be too! The best advice I got beforehand was to write my name on my running shirt (yep) and it was GOLD. Running along in random parts of Chicago with almost no spectators and someone would yell out "You got this, Laura!" or something equivalent was seriously spectacular. It feels cheesy but it is NOT. I encourage you to break out the sharpie and emblazon your running shirt with your name and feel the love from strangers. Thank you for reminding me how great that felt and how great it felt to accomplish that seriously difficult task. I can do hard things! And you reminded me of that. Thank you.

Grateful to you Caroline for offering wisdom and a smile every Monday morning! (I am in Singapore so I start my week with you instead of closing up the weekend with your warm words.)

I’m like you in that I love looking at the cover, back, and inside sleeve. Reading from a physical book is the best!

The end of your post brought a tear to my eye. When my kids were young, they didn’t always understand why I was ‘so nice to everyone.’ I could only think to tell them that it costs nothing and made me feel good. Fast forward to having a 20 and 17 year old, and the pride I feel when I can see they too are now ‘nice to everyone!’

Thank you so very much for your writing!! I take something away every single week!!

I, too, love jumping to the acknowledgements.

Thank you for bringing a bit of joy, peace, and perspective to my life each week. I'll be cheering for you on marathon day!! I'm also a runner and want to give the marathon a try next year. For now I'm trying to bring down my half marathon PR :)

Caroline, thank you for another lovely and timely newsletter. I am usually a very grateful person but since going through very difficult times since the past two years i find it harder to be grateful. When that happens, I make an effort to redirect my focus on the small simple things. I agree with you about the dumb expression about not crying over spilled milk. It's normal and healthy to want to express and share our feelings no matter what the circumstances. I like the different interpretations of the Five of Cups. Food for thought! You are my silver lining!
