Congratulations on your marathon! I love that your mom showed up at the start line to cheer you on.
I'll be watching the election coverage from my home in Canada. Thankful that I have some space from the election, but full of knowledge and understanding that what happens south of the border will impact what we see in politics here in the coming years.
You did it! One foot in front of the other, you did it. That is what success looks like, doing the hard thing. I hope you are now wrapped up in soft layers and holding a big ball of hope for tomorrow. Step by step, side by side, taking care. ❤️
Congrats on the marathon!!! I found Traveling Mercies years ago on a stoop in BK and haven't opened it yet, except maybe I did get it signed by Anne Lamott at an event. After I interacted with her (briefly, of course) and got a few books signed, I found myself so moved I was crying on the G Train all the way home. Ha! She is such a force. Would love to know your thoughts on that book:)
Bravo on completion of the famed NYC marathon! It is certifiably the largest gathering of humans on a city street that I can remember in a very long time.(aka post-Covid).
Thank you enormously for the revisit to an earlier post. I loved it then, I need it now. ♥️
Love reading all of your posts. Chills about your mom and her "sign." I'm in a mediumship training program and that experience checks out as EXACTLY how our beloved passed souls reach out. I know the relationship was complex in this life, but the beautiful part about her as a soul is the absolute understanding and lack of ego, shame, etc that muddies up our human relationships. XOXO
Congratulations on your accomplishment, Caroline! That's amazing. I'm all about the comfort clothing (including my Chucks), don't really have an appetite, rewatching "Yellowjackets" -- which is oddly soothing, and plan to avoid all election coverage today, especially tonight. I've done my part. I'll keep a positive heart; I just don't need the emotional rollercoaster. I finally got my mood in a better place from 2016-2022. I know how to protect it now. xo
Congrats on running an f'n marathon, for being present for that man's one-day only performance of Sweet Corral-line, and for acknowledging and accepting a beautiful sign!
Saved this post because I want to read up on the electoral college and re-read the post on "I love you, keep going."
and running 26.2 miles, I have to think that has to put you in the top 1% of runners worldwide. i ran a half marathon once and doubling that seems insurmountable to me.
lots to be proud of Caroline, hope this week treats you well.
Congratulations, Caroline! And your Mom at the start to boot! My sign for my Mom is an abalone shell and lo and behold, there it was, adorning a religious icon in the middle of the alps. Thanks for sharing your beautiful stories and mantra. I’m guessing you’re familiar with Laura Lynn Jackson? Greetings from Germany. Already two sweaters deep for this coming week results.
Congrats! Thanks for sharing - isn’t it remarkable how easy it is to talk ourselves out of goals and plans that are beneficial? But we have no problems talking ourselves into time and often energy wasters! Glad your mom showed up for ya at the start, remarkable coincidence😋 I always look forward to your posts-inspiring!
These words definitely met me where I am. And, omg, you began Traveling Mercies. It will feel like a warm blanket after your crazy intense overwhelming weekend.
I don’t believe in coincidence. How beautiful in the midst of so many people that man was next to you singing that song. What a perfect moment- just beautiful. Whatever happens this week, Caroline - I love you, we’llkeep going ❤️

Thank you, Natane! I appreciate it. And now we watch and wait. Here's hoping...
I was on a call for work this morning and one of our vendors from India said they are also watching things closely.

Congrats on the marathon, Sweet Caroline! Yes, a mother's love transcends. My mom still sends me messages via license plates.😉
Thank you, Sonya. Much appreciated. ❤️

Congratulations!! That’s such an amazing accomplishment—showing up, doing the thing, finding magic in the air, all of it.
Thank you!!
