I take this card to mean accepting a challenge, heading off into the dark unknown with only a candle or lantern to guide us. It’s a measure of not only how we grow but if we grow.
I can relate to your post as I didn't look forward to a new year without the love of my life who passed away in December. It's so painful and difficult. I love the poem. Thank you for another beautiful post that makes us pause and reflect on what's truly important in life and once again I come to the same conclusion that it's people and connection that matter. ❤
"Saying “no” to something to make room for your greater “yes.” "
Yep! Akin to 'No-one can sit in the chair next to you if the chair is already occupied.'
.
My word for 2021 was FREEDOM as I was exiting a long-term abusive relationship.
2022 was OPEN... open to all possibilities. And boy, I put myself 'out' there in the world.
2023 is not yet clear. Isettled on ABUNDANCE, yet true to character, I'm uneasy about it, because I don't want an abundance of anything but positive or growth-worthy things. It must be a single word.
I was gifted my first tarot deck for the holidays last month. Been on the precipice of really big change + move from the city I've lived in for nearly 4 years and wanted some extra guidance. Pulled a classic past, present, and future spread on Xmas day, and lo and behold for the future card: the eight of cups. Chuckling now to myself that the card of the week is also the same!
Oh pal, so often you just cut to the chase of something like a beautiful expert surgeon of words. What a post. Thank you for writing it just for me;)

Yet again...right on point!

I'm stuck.😜
