About the card of the week, I had been thinking about this lately. Bloody hell, we survived so much shit these past years, as a society and each one in their personal lives. We should give ourselves a collective pat on our backs, if you ask me.

Thanks. I needed that reminder to look a little closer for good things I’ve accomplished in these past couple of miserable, frustrating weeks.

(I was rereading my comment and wanted to know... is there a word for enjoying the humanness of humans and creating stories around their lives?

Also, I was never the person who enjoyed being a viewing pleasure for anyone. Team closed curtains at night!

I remember though, writing a whole IG post about the first walk I took with my dad ALL throughout the complex and just seeing, hearing, and smelling so many lives lived gave me the biggest high!

Worn-out shoes sitting outside doors, heading dishes clinking and water running after dinner, smelling the devil’s lettuce...

Haha I absolutely loved and love it.)

Yes. You are so right about how observing involves all of the senses, how there is so much to be gleaned about the existence of other humans from their sights and sounds and smells. I used to have a neighbor who seemed to always be cooking some kind of red meat sauce (clinking pots and savory aromas), and another who (at least by the chemical scent) seemed to always be cleaning. I never got to know much about them personally – and rarely laid eyes on them — but the scents and sounds of them going about their lives told their own story.

Why does it seem like you are always writing directly to me? I suppose because your themes are so human, so universal. I love the gift that you give... thank you.

At night, I like to close all my blinds and shut the world out and saying Good-Bye World. I enjoy my privacy, peace and quiet. I also don't like to see or hear what others are doing in the privacy of their home. I lived in apartments for a good part of my life and HATED it. I will be confortable in the middle of nowhere and that reflect how I have been feeling these past few years but THIS TOO SHALL PASS. I take pride in surviving each new day and doing the best I can. Funny that you're talking about Mercury and I have been unable to send this post. It kept saying SOMETHING WENT WRONG.

Our upstairs neighbor JUST moved out today. I was slightly grieving it too! It was a young couple who liked to make music (at least the guy did).

Most mornings I could hear the guy sneezing multiple times early in the morning. It was so comforting and human.

And quite a few weekends I’d hear house guests they’d host, and I can count on my one hand how many times I’ve heard the guy play his electric guitar and belt out a tune.

It was all muffled, but I really enjoyed hearing people live their life (especially in a way that wasn’t harmful or irritating).

I absolutely love the message today from the 6 of wands.

I caregive for my mom and the (temporary?) downward transition the past two weeks has been interesting to observe as I learn how to navigate it and our relationship.

Never would I have thought there would be anything there to celebrate.

I mean my gosh... my freakin’ coach tells us all the time to celebrate EVERYTHING.

And your reminder was needed. I certainly DO have things to celebrate!

Goodness... I definitely need to make a new daily journal log in Notion now.

(And yes, I’m totally a paper girl too. I can’t handle/stand having to go to my phone to an app in a file in a folder in a hole at the bottom of the sea to keep track of my weeks and days and months. But some (VERY few) things are more convenient for me to just do digitally.

Like daily journaling... when I remember to do it... hence why I’m making a new prompt template now, haha.

Having a template unfold in less than a second IS nicer than searching Amazon for hours for the perfect journal layout though, I must say.

The only other digital convenience I’m grateful for is digital painting.

I’m excited for the day I can truly sit down, lay out my paints and water glasses and paper and just paint.

But as a caregiver, I’m anxious the whole time I set up almost anything I wanna do because I’m afraid it’s taking away time to actually do it cause I never know when I’ll be called away.

Having a digital canvas and paintbrush eliminates that setup anxiety completely and allows me to creatively play much quicker.

.... I dunno why I went on that tangent, haha.

Maybe because I miss writing.

Too much has been going on to do much of anything lately but I’m going back to your tarot pull for the week and celebrating what I HAVE done during this time, despite my writing hiatus.

Thanks again!

What a great card of the week. Like you, I have a paper planner, and this year I bought one that was actually a bit larger than I needed... so I've been filling up the space by listing all the little things I achieved or loved each day. It makes me celebrate the small victories and appreciate the little moments a lot more than I otherwise would have - I highly recommend!

I love this! Will have to adopt this practice. Do you ever find yourself looking back at what you've accomplished? I imagine it would be a great reminder on those days when things aren't going as planned.

Yeah, I've been doing a sort of monthly review, so even when a month seems to fly by without anything notable happening, I can look back at my daily planner and say, yes, I actually had a lovely time doing x, or I managed to do y which I had been meaning to do for ages. It's a good, positive reminder of the little things we achieve or get to enjoy.

I’m beginning to think it’s time to study tarot. Thank you for the reminder to pause and reflect over the personal wins.

Yes! I'm obviously biased, but it's such a rewarding practice. And you can pursue it any way you like.

I, too, am a cuspy Zodiac sign (a 10/24 Scorpio), and I, too, have struggled to really get into astrology. That being said I loved everything you said about retrograde — it reminded me of “Making the Gods Work For You” by Caroline W. Casey. I listened to it on audible, but it’s more audio experience than audio book. I recommend it to those who are astrologically curious :) it’s not long!

Oh, thank you, Joyce! Just read more about it and it sounds wonderful. (And so beloved... especially the audio version!) I'll have to check it out.
