Loved seeing you do a reading, Caroline! You are such a natural and make tarot feel so approachable. I would also love to see more videos! One question I had, were you shuffling the cards as you talked to Alex or did you just pull from the top of the deck? Curious about your process there.
Thank you, Caitlin! And yes, I was shuffling during the early part of the conversation when Alex was speaking. (When I watched it back, I was actually afraid it looked like I was creepily dancing in my seat bc of the shuffling movement.) I usually shuffle until it feels “right” then pull from the top of the deck. If I’m doing a reading in person, I’ll have the querent cut, but that’s rare these days. :)
I'll be honest -- it was your reading of the 7 of Swords that brought me back to the cards. And to subscribe to your newsletter.
Now I do a daily pull (Head, Heart, Hands, Healing) from two decks and . . . noodle around with the results. Sometimes the picture is jigsaw clear -- Moon, 3 Pentacles, Devil, Moon (I use two decks for just such chance juxtapositions). Sometimes not.
I finally found some time and headspace to sit and watch the video, after reading this post a few weeks back. LOVED IT. Caroline, your intuition and insight is what makes Tarot powerful. I am a coach and watching this was like watching a coaching session with Tarot cards. I often use photos, objects, and other tools but I have never considered how Tarot could be used in a coaching session. It opens up doors and widens perspective. And that's what it is all about. Thank you :)
This was awesome! Loved the video. I didn’t know what a reading would look like, so I was always hesitant when you were offering them to your subscribers! The recording was especially illuminating on what a reading would look like, and I thought it was great! Maybe you can do more readings for other Substacks and grow your readership that way! ❤️
Thank you! Very glad you enjoyed it. Everyone has their own style of reading, but I try to keep it casual and conversational. Each reading is different, too, based on what the other person would like to talk about/get out of the experience. And yes, I would LOVE to read for other Substackers! Definitely want to work on more videos. :)
Oh no, really? That one is unfortunately buggy sometimes. Replying to a newsletter usually works. I can also email you since it’s on the subscriber list...want me to do that?
Loved this! I know you're a voracious (understatement) reader, but have you read "A Special Place for Women" by Laura Hankin? It's a bout an elite club of women pulling the strings in NYC culture. There's tarot, female friendship, mystery, romance, and growth all in one fantastic book. I found myself reading it slowly to savor it (which never happens!)
I loved reading both your takes on this (thanks for the intro to Alex and BAT, BTW)! Thanks also for discussing the Great Reality Show Disaster of 2005 in such a thoughtful and insightful way on Here For Me - I will always love how you dove into that and recognized how it was getting in your way many moons later.
And I love how much you're enjoying doing these readings! I watched the video and was grinning ear to ear - more please!
Thank you, I'm so glad to hear that! I am planning on doing more video readings and also hosting tarot workshops for subscribers (going back and forth on live vs. recorded). Don't hesitate to let me know if there's anything specific you have questions about or would like to know.
ooh! I would love a training! Especially a live one (I'm in FL but love the community aspect of live). I mostly just use books to interpret each card. I dont yet have the intuition around interpreting. I also am completely lost on how to pull multiple cards for a more comprehensive story. I mean, I know the process, but when I try to do it, I feel completely lost on how to blend them together.
Additionally, if you wanted to do a separate subscriber feature on just tarot, I would absolutely sign up and pay extra. I would love something shorter form and more repetitive, like 15 minute recording every week. Your writing is absolutely beautiful, but I love the video for tarot descriptions. I am into astrology and having this style of learning was super helpful in getting me past just reading a description of each sign.
I hope you do more readings! It would be esp good for those of us trying to get into tarot but unsure how. ❤️
That was wonderful! More of these, please!!
Thank you! 😊 Happy to oblige!

I love everything about this. Glad you're reading again. And you're inspiring me to use two decks! Thank you for being here.

But how do I write you an e-mail? The one at Substack came back with an error message

Yes please 😊
This was so great to watch. I am excited to see what you offer in regards to learning and understanding the cards.
Thank you! Very glad you enjoyed it.

I haven’t! But that sounds amazing and I will check it out ASAP. Thank you for the rec!
Fun!

Thank you, my friend! I am always too glad to link to my Here For Me episode - pure wizardry how you and your team framed it so beautifully.
And yes! I love doing these readings. So happy you watched it. Definitely want to create more videos in the future...baby steps!
So fun to watch. I would love to watch more of these. I am still getting comfortable with my tarot deck and your explanations are super helpful
