Love the fact that making the decision to go to Cheeseball man’s event and writing the post so we could all ‘attend’ with you was so embraced by us, your readers. It was such a “human nature” story with joy for all in the midst of this mad world.
Wow. Reading this made me think about my narrative. Am I an "always go" or "just say no"? Turns out, i'd like to go to more places than I do. You're right, who knows what awaits around the corner? How will magic find us if we don't open & allow ourselves to let it in! That's my main take away from your beautiful essay
Your curiosity is as important as anything on the schedule. - Love this statement. As someone w/ a career in business vs art, this still applies so well. Curiosity has led me to my greatest ideas, greatest solutions, helped me get unstuck numerous times. Thank you for the reminder!
Wonderful essay as always! Incidentally, I restarted The Artist’s Way this week and treated myself to the most lovely artist date today, so the timing is serendipitous. Sounds like yours was a great outing too - so many cute dogs!
Thank you so much, Ramya. I also recently restarted The Artist’s Way! I didn’t follow through with all the practices last time, so was curious what might come of it if I did. Would love to hear how your experience is this time around.
Gnocchi for Best in Show next year?! (Adding a sixth category. ;)
Also nothing could be more true: “Does it feel like time moves differently now?” a friend recently asked. “It’s like everything takes forever, and yet it seems there is never enough of it. Didn’t I have all these same responsibilities before?” I think we all feel seen.
Thank you so much. I was in a funk, and this cheered me up. WHY? I'm not sure. "Always go", and why not try? Plus I love your readings... so far they have always spoken to me. "Mama like", as my daughter would say ❤️🔥
This essay is further proof we are basically the same person. Yes something weird and not great has happened to time. The constant to-do list that has no ending is also, well, a lot. But: Doggos!! Always go makes my heart sing. Glad you played this song, friend. Glad you made it to the dogs. Next year Gnocchi and Rigatoni are going to sweep! 🐶🐶
I am ending one career this week to start a new one, albeit in the same field. This was such an encouragement for me. "And while circumstances inevitably shift around us, why not grant ourselves the leeway to seek out some newness for ourselves?" I've been a bit sad to let my first career go because I loved it so much, but it's nice to give myself permission to look forward to what's ahead, also.
I’m feeling this! Instead of “always go” (which I love), my mantra has been “one life—live it” and yet, I’ve gotten stuck the last few years. Every time I remember to adventure and that the point is to have fun, I’m so satisfied.
I found you through your cheese ball post and I’m so glad I did. I really like your energy and your writing.
Sitting here in the still approaching sunrise, trying to remember why the decision to ‘just go’ feels so timely, like a recent serendipity… I think it may have actually been a dream! Oooo. 🤔
'gnocchi'?! ahh my heart <3 this sounds all so fabulous and I agree, we're not here to 'yes-man' left right and centre, and the idea of being able to leave is 'chef's-kiss'.
I love “always go.” I have a corollary for relationships: “when in doubt, reach out.” :)
Love this. Thank you, Joyce. 💛

Thank you so much, Mohika. I’m glad to hear it sparked this line of thinking. (And that you feel the same!)
Gnocchi would have won! 💛☺️ Look at all those floofy floofs.
Aw, thank you. I was so sad I couldn’t enter her in “best ears.” Her ears are truly unmatched. 🤣
Her day will come! ❤️

Love this encouragement to show up...for ourselves!
Thank you!
Love the nuance of '“Always go” is not the same as “always say yes.”
Thank you ❤️

Thank you so much! So glad it spoke to you. And even happier it helped with the funk.
